Citizens United’s demand for secrecy

An initial, small but genuine citizens’ victory against Citizens United–which, aside from getting that disastrous Supreme Court decision that corporations, like people, had the First Amendment right to “free speech,” i.e., pouring as much money as they desired into politicians’ campaigns–want to keep us from knowing exactly who is paying for those politicians.

We New York citizens can applaud our Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman.

Bid to Block Disclosure of Citizens United Donors Rebuffed

A Southern District judge on Monday denied Citizens United’s request for a preliminary injunction against New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s attempt to have the group disclose to his office a list of its contributors.
