Remember to put sun block on your ears!

Baby elephants, apparently, have ears that can be burnt by the sun. In a normal elephant family, the babies get out of the sun by hovering under their mothers’ or aunts’ bellies.

But orphans have no such available shade. So people who care for them smooth sunblock on the delicate parts of their ears and hold umbrellas over their heads.

Here’s a picture of both sunblock and umbrella.
