Under the title, Support Enforcement, came this letter:
Spottswood, NJ. ICE is saving children from being used as slave labor in drug factories. They are taking the most brutal criminals off of our streets — murderers, pedophiles and rapists. Every decent adult should be supporting ICE and the great job they do. NYC needs to be saved, so let’s support ICE. — Tom Scott
Maybe because I’m a satirist, I’m having difficulty reading this without thinking it must, must, must be satirical. Because nobody could conceivably be so far removed from reality.
Let’s notice that Tom wants to save NYC, although he lives in Spottswood, New Jersey. What an unselfish guy with a wide world view!
P.S. In case you don’t read the Daily News, I can assure you its reporting on ICE and NYC is the same as the reporting in the New York Times and all other media, with a lot of heart-breaking photos. So Tom didn’t get his “facts” from the newspaper he writes letters to.
