Here’s this guy from Texas, name of Asher Watkins, a “big-game” hunter.
So right away you’ve braced yourself for something bad, given that the sentence contains the words “guy,” “Texas,” “big-game,” and “hunter.” And he’s a real estate executive, specializing in selling ranches. Geez, how many trigger words and characteristics do you need to pre-hate this person?
Hate away. Now, click on that link above to see a photo of the guy, in big-game hunter camo garb. With big gun. And some antlers in front of him.
Now, here’s the quote from the New York Times story:
“Asher was fatally injured in a sudden and unprovoked attack by an unwounded buffalo he was tracking together with one of our professional hunters and one of our trackers,” Hans Vermaak, whose family runs the safari company, said in a statement.
Got it. Guy was killed by an unwounded buffalo he was tracking. “Unprovoked attack”?!?!?!
Fuck, if this Asher Watkins has provoked unwounded me to vile exclamations, why shouldn’t being hunted for the purpose of killing provoke the buffalo?
